About Me

Registered with the Association for Nutrition – www.associationfornutrition.org
Protecting the public and promoting high standards in evidence-based science and professional practice of nutrition.

I am a Registered Nutritionist with 15 years’ experience working mainly within the food industry. I graduated with a first class degree in Nutrition/Food Science from the University of Surrey. I started off working in a trade association, and have since had various roles within multinational companies Unilever and Coca-Cola Great Britain - in local and global roles, catering, technical, communications and brand reputation. I have worked on products including spreads and drinks and most things in between. I have been lucky enough to work on such fantastic brands as Flora, Marmite, Diet Coke, PG Tips, Knorr and Smart Water.

I have a good understanding of food policy and I specialise in health communications – be that with consumers, health professionals, stakeholders or policy makers. I have a wealth of experience leading and offering nutrition support to PR and communications projects and campaigns, and have worked with some of the biggest and best PR agencies in the land.

I Chaired the group Nutritionists in Industry (NII) – a group of about 150 nutritionists working across retail, manufacturing, caterers etc., for over four years and still sit on the committee, truly believing it is important to give something back to the nutrition community. NII holds three scientific conferences a year, and offers an important network for the nutrition community.

I have a passion for communicating nutrition science simply and clearly, busting nutrition myths along the way and helping people enjoy eating healthily.

When I’m not myth-busting or catching up on the latest science, you can usually find me on the tennis court, out for brunch, taking a long walk on the beach or pottering in my vegetable garden.
